Hello Doctor...I am 31 year old girl. I want to know, whether tonsils can be the reason for double chin look. I know, generally people get their tonsils removed in early childhood. My tonsils were not removed. Can this be the reason behind my double chin look. Please advise. Thanks in advance. :)

Hello, Welcome to HCM, No the tonsils is not the cause for the double chin. Inflamed tonsils also is not a cause of double chin.
The most common causes for the double chin are 1.Atrophy of neck muscles 2.Obese individuals 3.Excessive amounts of loose skin.
Any of the above conditions can lead to double chin, you should be thoroughly examined for the above conditions. Thank you.
