Could Use Of Oflaxacin And Norfloxacin Hamper Growth In Nine Month Old?
Hi my kid was given ofloxacin when he was nine month as suffering from urinary infections then also metronidazole with norfloxacin as was suffering from loose motions. His height is just 101 cm , is it side effect of drugs given earlier??????????? YYYY@YYYY
Fluoroquinolone antibiotics like ofloxacin and norfloxacin are commonly used to treat infections caused by susceptible bacteria. Although these antibiotics are known to cause cartilage damage in the growing bones of young children however the actual bone growth is less likely to be affected. Your kid's height is normal for that age group.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
