Could Using Voltarol Retard Reduce Platelet Count?

When I was taking voltarol retard i had a routine blood test. It shewed that my platelets were reduced and those that I had were distorted. The haematologist advised that I stop taking the tablets. I did and over the next six months the blood tests became normal. Nowhere in the literature mentions this problem. Why?

Welcome to Healthcare magic.

Thank you for posting your query.

Voltarol or Diclofenac is a Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory Drug(NSAID) that is used for pain relief . And it does reduce platelet count , in fact almost all NSAIDs do so, as was pointed by your doctor.

Hope this helps.

Have a nice day.

Post any other question.
