Cure For Cold, Fever, Coughing And Blocked Nose?

Hi, I can't go to a doctor as I have no money. A few weeks ago my boyfriend had a cold, about a day after I got it too but my temperature was 39.5 and all I could do was lie down all day. Then I had diarrhoea, then few days later being sick. Now I'm just coughing all the time, one side of my nose is always blocked depending which side I lie on & my phlegm tastes like chlorine making it very unpleasant to blow my nose. Can you tell me what this is and how I can make myself better?

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is most likely a viral illness . Viral upper respiratory tract infections can cause fever, nasal congestion, fatigue, headache, cough, loss of appetite, diarrhoea.

The symptoms resolve on their own within 7 to 12 days but during the course you can consider the following: use a lot of fluids
(2) a topical decongestant would help with the nasal congestion
(3) oral decongestant, antihistamine, cough suppressant. These often come in combination
(4)rest

I hope this helps
