Cut In Ear Helix. Is It A Cartilage Cut Or Skin Cut? Should I Get It Stitched?

It s about 2 cm in size . I am not sure whether it is a cartilage cut or just a skin cut. My query is - does the cartilage heal on its own and how long it will take the cartilage for healing ? Also, is this something I need to get her ear helix stitched. I would really appreciate if you could help me out with this concern. Many Thanks and Regards, Reema

Hi Mam,
I have gone through your query.
For your kind information whole of the ear pinna is formed of the cartilage except lobule there for cartilage should not be exposed and prevent it’s by infection because there is chances of perichondritis.

It may be cartilage cut with skin.
Cartilage heals on its own after proper repair but need proper antibiotic course.

Wish you good health
