Hello, rimanu8,
The cysts can occur without any symptoms unless they are very big
and put pressure on the surrounding structures or bleed or even get
infected. Most of them are found during routine sonogram or CT-scan
done for some other reason.
Liver cysts can be associated with cysts
in the
spleen and also kidneys. Like in your case,
ovarian cyst.
Sometimes , a big cyst in the liver called the
Hydatid cyst can be
associated with parasites.
Your cyst in the liver is 5.8 cm in size which is not small and requires
close followup. Best thing is to have a sonogram every 6 months and see
if the cyst is growing in size. Bleeding, rupture and infection are the
complications. If there is any suspicion , you need surgery for excision
of the cyst by a competent surgical specialist.
I wish you well.
