Death Due To Heart Failure. How Did Patient Not Know That Heart Was Failing?
im enquiring about a loved one, one year ago he went for a routine op and it was discovered he had had a heart attack and not known, i thought it was being taken care of he had stents and stuff in but three weeks ago during an angiogram he had heart failure and died, i have now heard later that only 4% of his heart was doing what it was supposed to do , i want to know if he would have known he didnt have long and how come he still seemed ok on that small percentage??
Sorry about your loss. The heart can compensate a great deal, even when it is very weak, with only a few symptoms especially in younger patients. Other times, patients minimize their complaints. However, when the heart is so weak, the changes of sudden cardiac death, mainly from abnormal rhythms of the heart, are exponential, and the person may not be aware about the risk of these arrhythmias.
