Dehydration, Dizziness, Pounding Behind Head, High BP. Treatment Options?
i got dehydrated during a highschool wrestling match and left home while feeling dizzy, the next day i drank of fluid and gatorade to rehydrate but after about a week and a half now i still feel a pounding in the back of my head a couple times a day. the doctor said my blood pressure is a little high and they took a blood sample. still waiting on the results. can you tell me whats going on please?
Thanks for your health concerns. Indeed, high blood pressure is a cause of headache, particularly occipital in the back of the head. If you are young, most likely your doctor ordered blood tests to see if there are any secondary causes for high blood pressure; if blood pressure continues to be elevated despite a trial of reduced salt consumption, perhaps weight loss if you are overweight or obese, then medications might be needed and prescribed by your physician.
Hope this helps, truly yours,
