Desquamation On Fingers, Feet. Minor Abrasion, Occasional Bleeding. Due To Vitamin Deficiency?
HI, I have desquamation of the palm of both the hands. it is more on fingers. It started a week ago over the sole of the feet which somehow settled. Now it is over fingers of both the sides mainly over 3 and 4 fingers. It is rather ugly and minot abrasion and occasionaly bleeds . I felt it is due to Vitamin deficiency but of no help. No fever and nil other synptoms except minor itch and pain.
Keratolysis exfoliativa is the diagnosis. It is harmless peeling of skin of palm and sole. Excessive sweating ( hyperhidrosis) may be the cause. Contact of irritant like water, soap, detergent and solvent may aggravate the disease. Protection from irritants should be done for the prevention.Cream containing urea, lactic acid and silicone may improve the disease. In resistant case, photochemotherapy would be helpful.Still, consult eminent dermatolgist for perfect diagnosis and to rule out psoriasis, tinea, eczema, pompholyx etc.... Ok
