Diabetic. Has Hypertension. Creatine 7.6. Stopped Arkamine. BP Is High. Feet Swollen. Recommendations?
Hi , I want to ask about my Father in Law . He is diabetic and has hypertension . He has creatnine level of 7.6 and urea 45 . He is regularly taking Mini Press and Arkamine to control his BP. Recently the Arkamine is stopped and some swelling is observed on Feet. The BP is also know of higher side 160-170 as compare to 130-140. should we restart Arkanime
If his blood pressure is not longer under control as shown by the values you have given, then it would best for another anti hypertensive to be added to what he is currently taking. If he had problems with the arkamin then his doctor can prescribe another antihypertensive to replace it.
It is important that the blood pressure is controlled, the high values increase the chances of complications.
You should consider speaking to his doctor about your concerns and the potential need for another medication to improve his control.
HYPERTENSION, DIABETES AND KIDNEY DISEASE ARE LINKED TO EACH OTHER. IT IS VERY ESSENTIAL TO CONTROL B.P IN CKD PATIENTS. THERE ARE LOT OF DRUG OPTIONS AVAILABLE. 1. MOXONIDINE 2. CILIDIPINE
HE CAN CONTINUE TAKING MINIPRESS AS IT IS FOUND SAFE IN KIDNEY DISEASE, BUT IT IS NOT A POTENT B.P CONTROLLING TABLET SO YOU NEED TO CHOOSE FROM ABOVE DRUGS.
TRY TO CONSULT YOUR NEPHROLOGIST ONCE AND TAKE ADVICE FROM HIM.
