Diabetic, Suffers Parkinson Disease. Advised Quetipine Due To Dementia, Faces Urine Leakage Problem. Is It Due To Parkinson ?

My mother is having parkinsons disease as well as she is diabetic. Recently she has started behaving abnormal during evening times. I had been to neurologist. He informed us that she is under dementia due to parkinsons and has advised quetipine tablets. Also note that my mother has urine leakage problem. I suspect that there should be Urinary infection. Since two days we have not been able to collect urine sample to check for urinary infection. I read an article that ther is link between UTI and dementia. How to come to conclusion that dementia is due to UTI or parkinsons? Please advise.

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Dementia is due to Parkinsonism and urine incontinence is due to dementia .
Usually dementia don't develops urinary tract infection .
If I were your doctor for this case of urinary incontinence I would have prescribed fluoxetine 20 mg 1/2-1/2 along an ayurvedic drug ( in India ) neo 2-2-2 till complete relief .
I have given this drug to many patients with success.
Queidine is usually effective in those cases who have psychological problem.
Good luck for your mother.
