Diagnosed Asthma. Hard Lump In The Center Of Chest Under Breast. What Could It Be?

I. Have a hard lump in the centre of chest area just under breasts sometimes feel as though its pressing on something and worse if lieing down . I did have a dreadful hard chesty cough for about 3 months after Christmas- I went to the doctors but nothing found eventually diagnosised asthma and have to say it has sorted the cough out but this lump has appeared. Any advice please

i can feel your concerns

i advise you to consult your doctor for physical examination

you may need fine needle aspiration aspiration of lump

i advise her totake mast cell stabilizer like montelukast for asthma after consulting your doctor

i advise to use a mask especially when go out

take green tea and honey

steam inhalation also improve symptoms

avoid cold and soft drinks

give her plenty of fluids

saline gargles are effective remedy

Welcome to HCM.It would help getting this evaluated by your doctor.The lump could be Costochondritis(inflammation of the joint between the rib and the sternum),a sebaceous cyst,could be secondary to a rib strain/muscle spasm/myalgia, or it could be secondary to GERD.A X-ray of the chest , and a haemogram would help in ruling out infection and bony injury/swelling.You may need a upper GI endoscopy to rule out GERD.
