Diagnosed Mental Issues. Prescribed Sizodon, Vallance, Olimelt. Unwilling To Visit The Doctor. Ways To Progress?
SIr.please help me...my brother is 32 years old and seems to be having some mental issues and doctor has prescribed following medicines 1sizodon 2ml twice a day 2. vallance 5ml twice a day tab olimelt 5mg at bedtime
he is totally unwilling to go to a doctor and we really dont know what to do? please tell us how to progress?
Many times Psychiatric ill patients do not have insight regarding their condition and hence , they are not willing to come for consultation.
You should consult your psychiatrist for him as a proxy and can narrate all the history. There are some medicines available which can be given without knowledge of patients. Your psychiatrist may advise to go for these medicines.
Gradually as soon as patient recover, you may try to counsel him to consult the doctor.
Insight oriented psychotherapy may be needed to make him realize about his illness.
Thanks.
