hello doc, i am shruti, 21 years old a engineering student and my final semester exams are going on. i have some infection in my digestive system and ultra sound report says that i have sludging in my gall bladder and also some free fluid in POD. i consulted a gastroenterologist. he also found some infection in my chest. he prescribed me some medicines: 1. inox-sr 2. creo-x 3. tamflam-p 4. anzy-hs 5. actimarin forte now after taking all these medicine i am feeling puckish and drowsy and unconscious sometimes. in todays exam i don't even remember what i wrote i was so not in my senses. i just completed my answer-sheet somehow. please give a helpful suggestion. thank you.
Hi, Thanks for posting your query. Let me explain your query one by one. Presence of sludge in gall bladder is not considered as infection in gastrointestinal tract. Sludge formation is a precursor of gall stone formation. You are getting drowsiness due to cough syrup containing sedative H1 antagonist. You should again consult with internal medicine specialist/ your treating doctor and let him know the exact condition. You should take codeine sulphate syrup as it won't cause drowsiness. You should also perform gargles three times in day; a glass of lukewarm water with a pinch of salt. Take care, Dr. Mayank Bhargava
