Hello and welcome to HCM.
Thank you for your query.
Prostatomegaly is considered normal and is usually seen in individuals above the age of 50 years. Although the enlargement can be a normal process, it is routine practice to check the serum PSA level in every individual diagnosed with a
prostate enlargement to rule out cancer as the cause for the enlargement.
A grade I enlargement is very mild and can be easily controlled with medication. The main objective of the medication is to prevent progression of prostate enlargement. Although it does attribute to slight reduction in the size of the prostate, this is minimal. Do not worry about this Mr. Sushil, it is a normal occurrence and can be easily controlled if carefully monitored and managed.
Food items that are advised to have and maintain a healthy prostate are mostly greens. Let me list a few out for you:
-Beans
-Lentils
-Soy
-Beans
-All legumes
-Flax seeds
-Garlic
-Onions
Please avoid fatty food, meat (especially poultry), egss, etc.
Other than this, there are no specific measures required. Please continue with the advised medication and visit your doctor for regular follow ups, to monitor the status of your prostate.
I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications. I would gladly help you.
