Hi
welcome to HRM,
I understand your concern. Multiple
sclerosis is a disease which can affect the person in various ways.
unfortunately there is no cure, but treatment can help in treating the attack, treating the symptoms, and modifying the course of the disease.
This is the usual problems with the patient of MS, that after a while, they stop medication, mainly because of side effects, and also because usually they become depressed, and lose the hope.
Now a days there are several medications available which can be used on individual basis. Another thing is
Plasmapheresis, in which we separate the Blood cells from Plasma. All types of treatmen have their advantages and disadvantages.
other than the medicines, these patients need to do plenty of rest along with their normal routine activities. Doctors and other support system can help the patients to have the device to do their required activities. They should do exercises under guidance. They should avoid high temperature. Swimming is very good exercise. They can do water
aerobics. They should have balanced diet. They should try to relieve
stress, may be given antidepressants also. It is also strongly advisable to help them joining the support group, and meet other people with the same disorder. it would help them in coping with their condition, they can share the experience, and learn from each others.
COntinue to be a good support for your family member.
