Diagnosed With Blastocytis Hominis. No Help With Any Medicines. Weightloss, Diarrhoea. Suggestions?
I have been diagnosed through a stool sample with blastocystis hominis and have tried five diffeent treataments some of them convential such as flagyl and some of them non-convential such as a Chinese herbal remedy. Nothing has worked. I have had this parasite since Aufgust of 2012 and have lost a sinnificanat weight and am still having frequent diarrhea . Do you have any suggestion as to what I can do next? Judy.
Dear Judy...
Blastocystis hominis is parasitic (protozoan) infection.
It requires treatment with anti protozoal drugs such as Iodoquinol or Nitazoxanide along with Metronidazole (Flagyl).
You have also mentioned that you are having this parasite since August 2012.
So...instead of trying different conventional & non conventional medications, it will be better to consult a Gastroenterologist & start proper treatment.
Other than that, maintain proper hygiene, adequate hydration & take soft, non-spicy foods.
Wishing you a Good Health. Let me know if I need to clarify further.
Thanks & take care.
