Diagnosed With Bronchiectasis And Pseudomonas Infection In The Lungs. Any Cure?

My mother is 79 yrs old and has bronchiectasis and has been diagnosed with Pseudomonas in her lungs. They are culturing her sputum but they have not found an antibiotic. She has been on O2 since I was 15yrs old and I'm 52. I need to know if this is going to take her life. I know anything is possible, I just want the odds she is up against.

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Bronchiectasis ,since 37 years and naturally each and every treatment had tried.
As for hypoxia ,they are using O2 therapy.
Conservative therapy are ,antibiotics ( failed),rest, oxygen.
If bronchiectasis is localized only option is surgery, resection.
If widespread than embolization (surgery ) is good.
If bronchiectasis is extensive and associated with cor pulmonale than long term oxygen therapy is only option.
If possible upload the reports, than any decision can be taken.
Hope I have answered your question.
If further any question I will help.
Good luck.
