Diagnosed With Diastolic CHF. Blood Pressure And Heart Beat Low. Should I Be Concerned?
My dad is 78 years old. He has been diagnosed with diastolic CHF. His blood pressure has been reading around 115 over 49 with 59 beats per minute. He also has COPD , emphasema, diabetes , and chronic kidney disease (gfr at 38%). I was wondering if the reading of his blood pressure should be a concern. Incidentally, he is diagnosed as hypertensive as well.
Your father is an elderly Diabetic, hypertensive, Congestive cardiac failure and chronic renal disease.
He has associated respiratory illness also.
His Blood pressure is at the lower side.
Blood pressure is the measure of resistance exerted by the blood vessels to the pumping of blood by the heart.
The pumping mechanism of your father's heart is weak due to CHF.
