Hello dear,

Management of Prostatomegaly includes:
1. Finasteride- it inhibits formation of the hormone which causes prostate enlargement.
2. Tamsulosin- it relaxes the bladder muscles & prevents the urinary symptoms.

So, kindly consult an Urologist & start treatment.
Take care.

General & Family Physician Dr. Het Ram Bishnoi 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Normally the volume of prostate is 18 -20 c c or ml .
Volume or size of prostate is one and same thing.
As you mentioned the size , this is normal .
Now as age advance the size of prostate enlarge and this enlargement of prostate is known as Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia ( B P H ) .
Your husband is case of B P H in my opinion as after abdominal examination capsule of prostate is intact , this is a proof that this is B P H .
Usually this is normal and don't require any treatment .
Still for the precaution you can take treatment .
B P H can be confirmed by a surgeon and take conservative treatment.
All findings regarding bladder are normal .
Good luck.
