Diarrhea And Severe Cramping In Stomach. What Does This Indicate?
I'm on my period, I just got it today, and I have cramps like no other. But recently I've been pooing more than usual and at one point I took a really big one and it really hurt. Now my poo is almost completely liquidy and my stomach hurts and the pain is as if I'm practically dying. And the worst thing is that I can't stop pooing it just keeps coming
The most probable reason of your diarrhea is bacterial or viral infection. The great majority of such infections heals by its own and no medical attention is required. However if the symptoms last longer than 48 hours, high fever or blood in stool is present, stool tests are necessary at first. If the symptoms get worse only when period is present, endometriosis should be also considered. In such case you should consult gynecologist and start with transvaginal ultrasound.
Welcome to HCM! On reading your question I can say from my clinical experince that you may be having abdominal infection sided by side of your periods. There is some possibility of periods related abdominal upset, but as it is severe you need treatment.
Because there is lot of diarrhoea presently, please start an antibiotic. I have seen cefixime with ornidazole working great in such cases. Also, taking dysmen tablet will help in cramps. Can take it twice to thrice a day.
I think you must be having weakness Beacuse of pain and poo, you may go for injectable antibiotics, 2 shots initially and then continue with oral antibiotics. Had I been treating you I would ask for an ultrasound abdomen and lower abdomen to rule out any organ involvement & some blood tests.
Hope the reply is useful Feel free to ask more queries Dr. Manisha Gopal
