Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
at the beginning of may we took a family vacation to hawaii, the second night we were there I started throwing up and having diarrhea for exactly 12 hours straight, could keep nothing down and was literally projective vomiting everywhere. Since then my stomach has not been the same. Ive had many bouts of diarrhea and fever like symptoms which go away with in a few hours. often i have about three BMs in the morning and then my stomach is bloated and pinchy for the rest of the day... Ive been taking probiotics and rarely eat wheat or dairy, and have a very healthy diet. I have a six month old baby, have taken 2 pregnancy tests, but could something have hormonally changed my stomach? have i been unable to shake the bug i likely caught on the plane to hawaii? IBS? I have a dr appt on wednesday but just curious.
Hi, it is also called food poisoning, caused by the food or water borne infection. The treatment consists of the antibiotic, anaerobic anti biotic, ranitidine, and domperidone, and loperamide, when ever necessory, un less the gut is sterilised by such treatment on can't be comfertable. If dehydration is present infusion of the fluids may be necessory. thank you.
