Did Mox Suspension And Omnacortil Cause Loose Watery Stools?
Hi my yr old son is suffering from cough doc has prescribed mox suspension 3.5 ml thrice a day for 5 days and omnacortil suspension for 4 days and nebulisation with asthalin ,but after giving him these medicine he is not eating anything .passes loose watery motions and is not active
Mox suspension can cause loose stools or gastrointestinal upset as a side effect. This antibiotic can be stopped and other groups of antibiotics can be started if cold and cough persists.
Antibiotics can kill the beneficial bacteria in the intestine which can cause diarrhoea in many patients. Probiotics can reduce such antibiotic induced diarrhea.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
