Did Surgery For Fibro Tumors. Had Heavy Bleeding. History Of Miscarriage. Am Moody, Hot Flashes. Time To Heal?

hello- I had my surgery 12yrs ago. I was never told what to except . I just knew I couldn't stand to have those terrible. I had fibro tumors and my periods were awful and pain full. all I knew was that something had to be done. periods very heavy . I had to use a diaper because of the heavy bleeding. anyway I kept my cervix, because I was bleeding so much during the surgery that they needed to close. my question is I have been on premerin 1.12mg for 12yrs. I have tried to get off it but I get very moody and the hot flashes. I am 61yrs old. I thought that I would be ok by now,but just have to keep on it. will I ever be able to not take the medicine.is there something I can do or vitamin or anything else.is this a life time thing. I feel so dumb at my age to have to ask. but I was never given information on this and I have been wanting to ask someone but didn't know were to go. my dr. has moved and I never went back after MY 6WEEK CHECK UP. my husband and I have not had sex in 11yrs. I just never had the desire too. is there any hope for me at this time in my life........ also I had a tubular pregnancy and 2 miscarriage before I was able to conceive. we have four grown daughters. one of them is suppose to have surgery and she ask me questions and I have very few answers. she has the same problems I had. thanks you

Infertility Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for your query. I read your query and I understand your concerns.
Following is my reply:

1) You can slowly stop premarin. Please ask your doctor to taper them.

2) Continue with healthy diet and excercise which will reduce your chances of mood swing and other side effects of tapering premarin.

3) Start on vitamin D tablets with your doctor's prescription which will help

Let me know if you have anymore doubts.
