Difficulty In Bowel Movement. Removed Punctured Appendix. Ultrasound Report Normal. What Can Be Done?

Hi, my step-son had a punctures appendix which was removed a week ago. He s still in the hospital and cant poo. He s in a lot of pain, hasn t eaten a thing in a week and has a tube up his nose and down his throat . White blood cells are normal and nothing showing up on the ultrasound!!! He s very uncomfortable and getting depressed!!! His Bowel distended...What can we do??? Thank-You

In my opinion he should be given some laxative liquid, or some laxative suppository will help him in passing the stool.
