Hi, I'm a 24 year Girl.... I feel choked at night and not able to sleep.. I keep coughing the whole night. One doctor asked me to go for endoscopy as he predicted That I could have thick Mucus problem.. but the test came clean and he said its all in my mind... :( But every time during this period of year when the weather changes to cold, I face the similar problem... Please help me as I've my exams next week...
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. In my opinion, we should definitely rule out seasonal bronchitis in your case because you are having symptoms every year in cold weather. Bronchitis is inflammation of airways and this in turn causes bronchospasm and chest tightness, Breathing difficulty etc. So consult pulmonologist and get done PFT (Pulmonary Function Test). If PFT is showing obstructive defect then you will need inhaled bronchodilators (formoterol or salmeterol) and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) (budesonide or fluticasone). Don't worry, you will be alright with all these. Avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
