Difficulty In Coughing, Have Thick And Green Colored Phlegm After Tonsillectomy. Cause?
I had a tonsilectomy about 12 months ago. Since then I have had trouble bringing up phlegm , I really need to hack it up to clear my throat . Now when it does come out it is GREEN. In the mornings it is dark green and almost solid. During the day it is more of a pastel green and is thick and slimy. Can you shed any light for me?
Hi,
Thanks for query.
Your problem was due to your operation & because of it you could not expel properly. This is not a complication but due to removal of tonsil some times your throat muscle becomes loose cannot force properly.
you should go for mouth physiotherapy.
your green sputum is an infection & is really needs attention as it may infect your lower respiratory tract.so consult your Doctor & he will prescribe medicines for your infection.
