Difficulty To Hit Higher Notes Of Voice, Cracked Voice. History Of Having Sinus Surgery. Have Asthma. Vocal Cords Normal. Help
Since I have had sinus surgery several years ago, I have had a lot of trouble hitting the higher notes in my range. My voice tends to crack and it makes it impossible to sing the songs that I want to and know that I'm capable of singing. The ENT says that my vocal chords are fine. I tend to have a lot of drainage and deal with asthma that can be quite serious, but it's never affected my voice like this before until the sinus surgery
You have your vocal cords normal as you have stated, the problem in hitting higher notes can be because of your inability to breath through nose and thus inability to raise voice. usually sinus surgery does not cause any such complication but some post operative synechiae formation can lead to obstructive symptoms. the resonance of voice can decrease if the normal hollow sinuses loose ventilation and become filled with mucosa, this can also change the character of the voice. please see an ENT who can do an endoscopic examination of nose and find if any of the above stated problems are there. meanwhile you can use fluticasonenasal spray. Regards
