Dignosed With CLL. See Oncologist. Have Enlarged Lymph Nodes, Grion, Enlarged Spleen. Suggestions?
i have CLL was diagnosed in 2007 have not had treatment still in w&w. I see my oncologist every 6 months. I have enlaarged lymph nodes in my underarms, neck, groin and slightly enlarged spleen. Recently I have been just exhausted no matter how much sleep I get. I am wondering if I should call and see if I can get in early to get my blood work done. What do you think?
CLL is often treated in later stages. Monitoring the disease over time is always the initial goal. If it advances to a stage tat warrants drugs, then you would most likely be offered a chemotherapy to address this. I think this is what your doctor has been doing.
With new symptoms, i will advice that you get an early visit to get your CLL re-evaluated and see if it warrants treatment at this point or not. Also, you may have another condition that explains this tiredness and your doctor would be able to pick this and address it. So seeing a doctor is the right thing to do right now.
I hope this helps and provides guidance on how to approach this problem. I wish you well and do feel free to ask me more questions if need be. Dr. Ditah, MD
