Discharging Bright Yellow Pus After A Bowel Movement . Suffering From Bowel Pain And Diarrhea. Noticed Blood On Toilet Paper. Serious?
Is it normal to pass bright yellow pus after a bowel movement. I have been experiencing bowel pain while having a bowel movement and all of the time my stool is pencil thin or diareahh.Sometimes I notice blood on the toilet paper and seems like a maroon color to my stool. Could this be just IBS or something more serious?
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Yellow mucus and blood in stool with abdominal pain suggest Bacterial gastroenteritis. However Inflammatory Bowel Diseases and other colon conditions should also be ruled out. In Bacterial gastroenteritis your stomach and intestines becoming inflamed and you will probably experience unpleasant symptoms such as vomiting, severe abdominal cramps and diarrhea, sometimes blood and mucus in stool. It tends to develop as the result of poor hygiene.
The main aim of treatment is to keep you fully hydrated in order to avoid complications. You should take Oral Rehydration solution to replace lost fluid and electrolytes.
You should visit your doctor and get tests like stool analysis, sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy.
Antibiotics may be prescribed in sever conditions.
Hope it helps.
Take Care!
