Discomforts Arisen Again Even After Internal Hemorrhoids Were Banded
I have had 3 internal hemmorroids banded and everything was fine. A couple months later I was feeling discomfort again and my dr. banded another hemmorroid for 4 days it has not helpled and I passed the clot(hemmorroid). There has always beem a foul odor. Yesterday my dr. removed the bands and wants me to call her tomorrow. I do not feel any better. I feel like I have to go to the bathroom all the time and I feel very bloated. what should I do. She examined me and said we will wait and see that maybe she will have to sch. to be examined in the hospital. Could there possibly be an infection going on or perhaps something unrelated? Thanks
Hi. You have nicely thought. This looks to be an intestinal infection- may tbe the timing to do banding was wrong. Four smelling stool suggests this. You can also have procto-colitis causing the discomfort you have suggested. The hemorrhoids can also be secondary to an internal problem and that may be the reason they re-appeared. I would advise all such patients to undergo colonoscopy and an ultrasound of the abdomen , just to rule out deep seated problems. Get a trial of an antibiotic and metronidazole. Have ''SITZ '' bath. Diet changes , relaxed life-style all help a lot.
