Disoriented Feeling When Driving Around Curves And Bridges. History Of Pin Strokes, Mitro Valve Replacement. Have Small Vessel Disease. Ideas?
While driving I have noticed in the last couple of months that my head starts swimming and I get a little disoriented when I go around curves or on to bridges, overpasses anything like that. I have already had 2 pin strokes and a mitro valve replacement. Was told I had the small vessel disease and not sure if this has something to do with it.

Disoriented Feeling When Driving Around Curves And Bridges. History Of Pin Strokes, Mitro Valve Replacement. Have Small Vessel Disease. Ideas?
Hi, Thank you for posting your query. Your symptoms are suggestive of peripheral vertigo and labyrinthine dysfunction. These are related to middle and inner ear dysfunction. Small vessel disease and ischemic changes in the brain (lack of blood flow to brain) usually do not cause these symptoms. You can consult ENT doctor for more detailed evaluation and treatment. Using medications such as betahistine tablets would help you. I hope it helps. Best wishes, Dr Sudhir Kumar MD DM (neurology) Senior Consultant Neurologist
