Do Alka-Seltzer Or Tylenol Create Positive For PCP In Drug Test?
I just took a required drug screen (UA) for a job I am trying to get. I tested positive for PCP. I do NOT use PCP. I take Lamictal (200mg 2x/day) and I also take Seroquel (100mg, 1-2 as needed at bedtime) The only OTC s I take daily are Alka-Seltzer Pain Relief and 2 500mg Tylenol s every day. Do those medications create a false-positive for PCP in a Bio-Rad TOX UA test?

Lamictal has a possible false positive reaction for PCP, so this may be the cause.
Some of the other drugs that can cause this reaction are : dextromethorphan ( found in cough mixtures), tramadol, demerol, thorazine, benadryl.
There are additional tests that can clearly determine if a drug has been used, this is the GC-MS test. This would show that you are not using PCP.
