Do Amlodipine And Lisinopril Help Control Hypertension?
Hello, I thought this service was free. I just wanted to check for drug interatctions for my medications. Timolol eye drops, amlodipine and Lisinopril both oral, both to treat hypertension. Timolol for glaucoma. I also take synthroid for hypo thyroidism. Do you have any information for my inquiry?
When used in the form of eye drops some amount of Timolol may get absorbed into systemic circulation through the nasolacrimal duct (tear duct which drains into the nasal cavity) and may interact with Amlodipine which may cause additive effects in lowering blood pressure.
You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heartbeat. You should consult your doctor immediately if you develop these symptoms and they do not go away after a few days or they become troublesome. You may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring by your doctor to safely use both medications.
Hope I could clarify your concerns. A feedback is appreciated! Regards, Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
