Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I hit my shin below the knee hard today tubing in a creek and afterwards had quite a goose egg on it. Tonight it is sore but the swelling has gone down some. The funny thing is, there s no bruising showing up where I hit it. Could I have bruised the bone there?
As with the history it appears you may have hit the bony region of the shin of tibia. Now tibia is a bone of the leg which has very less bulk of the muscles there, so chances of having a bony injury is common, usually it wont be a fracture as tibia is a strong bone.
Only thing is that for a safer side x-ray should be taken to see any hairline fracture. Rest assured, with hot water fermentation and rest it should be fine.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
