I am very nervous I was told that I have 3 fibroid tumors I am over 60 post menopausal for over 7 years. I have been bleeding lower back pain and a weak bladder and very tired . They did not give me the size of the tumors except to say they were concerned and now I am booked to see a gynecologist. do I have something to worry about.
Hello dear Understand your concern If fibroid can cause symptoms like severe bleeding, abdominal pain then you have to first take the medicine like birth control pill, danazole and tranexaemic acid to stop the bleeding. Weak bladder may be due to pressure of the fibroid on the bladder so in case better to remove it by surgery. Size greater then 10 cm should be definitely should be removed by the surgery. If you have family history of cervical and endometrium cancer then it again indication of removal by surgery. So PAP smear and endometrial biopsy should be done to rule out the cancerous condition. So consult the gynecologist get the done USG to know about size and gynecologist will decide the treatment plan depending on the size, site and severity of symptoms. Hope this may help you
