Do I Need To Take Any Treatment For The Bruise In My Face?

Was out running 3 days ago, when a large dog ran into me, knocked me to the street. Hit road on left side of face with biggest impact just at my eye. Almost blacked, walked home, about a half mile. Do not remember getting home until I walked in the house. Side of my face is very bruised. Have slight headache and eyes feel really tired. I am 61 year old female in good physical condition. Should I at this late date seek medical attention?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that due to fall there has been soft tissue injury, rupture of blood vessels leading to spillage of blood into soft tissues leading to bruising as well as blackening of eye is also due to blood spillage and condition is also known as "Black eye".
Slight headache and having a feeling of disorientation that lasted for few minutes after injury can be due to moderate level of Concussion that occurred post trauma..
I would suggest you to consult a Physician and get evaluated and he can also advise you x rays to rule out for any facial bone fractures..
You can also do alternate warm and cool compresses over the swollen and bruised areas..
Take Ibuprofen for pain..
If there has bee any lacerations taking Tetanus Toxoid injection and antibiotics is must..
