Do I Need To Wear Sunhat And Sunscreen In Winter With BCC Removal From The Neck?

Hi. I am 40 years old, generally in very good health, live in the UK, but had a BCC removed from my neck earlier this year. I have been advised to wear a sunhat and wear SPF 15 to SPF 30 sunscreen according to the time of day. Do I actually need to wear this even in the UK Winter?

Hello

I don't think you need to limit the sun exposure to your skin all the time with the history of a BCC.

I would say that you can have about 15 minutes in the sun every day so that you maintain your vitamin D levels

Hi!
Welcome to Healthcaremagic. com.

I have read your query in detail and do understand your concern.

Yes sunprotection is definitely needed in winter in the day time.

The harmful rays of sun do affect your skin even in winters, cloudy or rainy weather.

Hope this helps!

Good luck!
