Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Do Quetiapine Fumarate And Trazadone Show Up On A Drug Test?
I am on 3 antidepressants Quetiapine Fumarate 50 mg at HS. Trazadone also at night and Citaloprim in the morning. Will these drugs show up on a drug screen? Do I need to stop taking them before the test? The last drug screen I had it came back positive for amphedimines Sp.
Yes, Quetiapine & Trazadone may show up on a drug screen.
The antipsychotic/antidepressant Quetiapine may show up positive for opioid (narcotic) Methadone whereas Trazodone may result in false positive tests for Amphetamine or Methamphetamine and LSD.
You need to stop taking these medications before the test after consulting your treating psychiatrist.
The other antidepressant Citalopram is not known to cause false positive drug results and it is not usually one of the drugs looked for.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
