Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello thanks for asking from HCM

Trazodon and Venlafaxine both are drugs which can cause weight gain and sedation. Basically Trazodon is more likely to cause weight gain. The weight gain further aggravates depression. I would advise you to follow dietary modifications for weight loss.

Have diets rich in proteins and carbs and low in fats. This will not only improve weight but will also improve depression.

Take supplements of vitamin C as it will help in lipolysis.

Now some anti-depressants like Fluoxetine, Bupropion are not associated with much weight gain. You can discuss with your psychiatrist for these drugs.

Thanks
