General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Yes, Tripride is associated with edema of the legs. Tripride contains glimepiride, metformin, and pioglitazone and commonly prescribed for the treatment of diabetes mellitus. Pioglitazone is known to cause edema of the limbs, thinning of the bones, upper respiratory tract infection, and headache. You should consult your father's doctor for an alternate effective but a safer combination of medicines to control his blood sugar.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
