Do Fumes From Burning Light And Tire Cause Nausea And Headache?
A few days ago, I was in the car and started smelling fumes. I opened the windows and thought it was coming from outside when I was stopped at a light. About 7 mins had passed when I stopped. Smoke started to come into the car. I looked back and smoke was coming from the trunk. All the windows were open but the smell was definitely toxic. I pulled into a parking lot and opened to trunk to find out that a tail light had caught fire and there was a tire there that seemed to be on fire but just started burning. Since then I have had headaches and feel nauseated off and on. I ve been drinking green tea and seaweed in order to detox but still not feeling 100%. Suggestions?

Infectious Diseases Specialist, Dr. Arun's Response
Hello, I understand your concern. I am Dr. Arun Tank, infectious diseases specialist, answering your query.
Burning of the tyre produces carbon monoxide. This carbon monoxide is toxic product and causes nausea, headache etc.
It has very high affinity to haemoglobin so until you are not completely free from such a haemoglobin you never recover from it.
Only treatment for such a condition is to take fresh air. There is no need to take any tea or other products. Once the free air is available the symptoms gradually disappears.
I will be happy to answer your further concern, you can ask me on bit.ly/DrArun. Thank you. Dr Arun Tank Infectious diseases specialist.
