Do Higher Altitudes Cause Swelling In The Feet And Low Potassium Levels?

hello, my girl friend went to Utah and is about 4500 feet above sea level. she flew in a plain there. her ankles and feet have swelled to 3 times the size. now she has had a stroke before from lack of potassium. im just trying to figure out if the altitude may have caused this or do we need to worry??

High altitude may cause pedal edema or pulmonary edema.

It may also cause cerebral edema after reaching 4 hours of altitude.

Oxygen supplementation may useful. Please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
