Hello, and I hope I can help you today.
There is no reason why you should need to be admitted to the hospital for your hyperemesis as long as you are strong and healthy enough to use the medications recommended for
medical abortion. However, the medicines used for medical termination are pills so if you cannot hold down pills you may need treatment for your
nausea. Hyperemesis can result in electrolyte abnormalities and
weight loss if it is prolonged. No one can admit you to the hospital without your permission, so I just suggest you discuss your situation with the clinic. Bot if you really are so nauseous you can't swallow pills, you may need a surgical procedure instead.
In the meantime, taking any products with ginger in them- ginger candies are great if you can't hold down food... can help with nausea. Try to eat (if you can) small amounts of crumbly food like crackers instead of anything with a strong smell. Try to drink water mixed with a small amount of non-acidic juice (apple is good) as it will give you some sugar as well as hydration. Just do a few sips and wait a few minutes before trying more.
I hope this answered your question and that my advice was helpful. Best wishes, and I hope you feel better, Dr. Brown
