Do Low Oxygen Levels Cause Vertigo?

I am wondering if symptoms of vertigo with my 97 year old father could possibly be related in any way to a lack of oxygen or low levels of oxygen as he breaths. He has bouts with vertigo every few months and it has happened with more frequency of late.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Low oxygen or hypoxia can present with a multitude of symptoms, one of which is vertigo or vertigo-like symptoms. But vertigo can also result from other conditions like ear problems. You could get it evaluated by your clinician. If it is hypoxia, he would be in the best position to advise you on your options in terms of oxygen therapy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
