Do My Daughter Need Psychiatric Help To Recover From Failed Relationship?
My daughter keeps getting into a failed relationship with the same person. He keeps cheating on her and they break up. After he has his fun, he keeps begging her back and she takes him back. They have two kids a ten year old and a 6 month. This last break up happened a few days ago. I m telling her she needs to see a Psychiatrist to help her get over her emotions and move on with her two kids. Is this the right kind of Dr. that she needs or is there another specific profession that we should look into to help her cope and move on with her life?
I have read the query and understand your concern towards your daughter. The frequent break ups will not only affect her mental health but will also have a severe impact on her children.
I will advice her and her husband to consult a marriage counselor to sort out the reason for frequent break ups to know what exactly they expect from each other. If the problem gets solved by the counseling and they are able to live a happy married life nothing better than that for her as well as her children.
Don't worry, for now she doesn't need to go to the psychiatrist. But in case, even that doesn't help and she has started feeling depressed about the failed relationship that is the time you might need as consultation from a psychiatrist.
Hope this answers the query.
Feel free to ask any further queries.
