Hi. Myself and my husband are trying to get a baby. Ive plotted a bbt chart and we were sexually active during the ovulation period. May periods is delay now. However, my period is not regular. Its from 29-38 days lenght. Today i'm at day 41. Ive used the preagnancy kit and it came out negative. Im producing more discharge than normal days. It is watery and white in colour. Im getting it everyday and cramps now and then but no vomiting and nausea. Further i had a very bad lower abdominal pain and dr. gave me a pain killer injection one week ago. Do pain killer can cause delay in period? or wait for my period for few more days.
Pain killers would not cause a delay in periods but any emotional or physical stress might . Physical stress would include any illness.
Pregnancy tests are normally accurate at determining pregnancy if done at least 11 to 14 days after possible conception. If the test was done at this time , it is likely accurate. You can consider repeating it if you wish to make sure that it is correct.
If you and your husband experience difficulty conceiving after trying for at least a year, it would be best to consult a doctor.
I hope this helps
