Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Symptom of cough more than 4 weeks needs to be brought for investigation because it could be pulmonary pathologies like mycobacterium infection, bronchitis (Allergic condition ) bacterial infection like pneumonia, and malignancy, cough symptom of more than 4 week can not be taken as granted, routine blood tests, imaging studies (X-ray, CT MRI) advisable.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Akhtar Husain
