Do Positions During Intercourse Affect Chances Of Pregnancy?

hello dr, im basically from india,n nowadays i live in china.i got married on 1st nov 2009.i wanna know that is it necessary to get pregnant that my husband's legs should be in between my legs.i dont feel comfortable in that position.i i wanna become pregnant soon.so if i put my legs in between my husbands legs during intercourse,is there equal chance to become pregnant.

Hi,

While sexual positions are a matter of personal interest, considering the possibility of having a pregnancy is seen more in missionary position with man on top. This allows the semen to be deposited deep inside the vagina near the cervix and increases the probability of a pregnancy. For better chances, it is recommended that the woman has a pillow below the hips and this causes even more deposition of sperms near the mouth of uterus. I am unable to understand what you mean by saying that you are uncomfortable in a position by putting the legs between your husbands legs.

You can, of course, get pregnant having intercourse in almost any position, but woman on top positions decrease chances of fertility.
