Do Rapid Heartbeats Cause Excessive Sleepiness And Fatigue?

My heart was skipping every 4th beat so had a Cath and it was clean but now my heart rate is about 115 all the time so was put on metoprolol yesterday. It gives me heartburn. I am tired all the time and can sleep all day is that a side effect of a rapid heartbeat

Hello,

The rapid heartbeat may not cause drowsiness. Metoprolol may cause drowsiness and vivid dreams.

Also, check for other possibilities like chronic fatigue syndrome or depression or anaemia or hypothyroidism or electrolyte imbalance etc.

Get it done ECG, chest x-ray, haemoglobin status then consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
